Two drivers were arrested last night after they were caught racing on a 60Kph Letterkenny road.
The pair were detected by Gardaí speeding on the Four-Lane Road on the outskirts of the town.
“As part of our Road Safety and Traffic Enforcement Campaign over the weekend, Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were conducting patrols last night when they observed two vehicles racing each other at high speeds on the Four Lane Road (N56) in Letterkenny,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“Both vehicles were stopped. The drivers were arrested and charged to appear in court.”
Earlier yesterday, another driver was clocked by Gardaí doing 106kph on the same road.
The Guard’s high-visibility Bank Holiday weekend campaign will continue across the county until tomorrow morning.
