A former Portlander is among the 18 new cast members who will compete on the upcoming Season 49 of the long-running hit, “Survivor.” Kimberly “Annie” Davis, who now lives in Austin, Texas, will be trying to win the $1 million prize.
Davis, 49, is a CEO and a musician. According to her bio on her company’s website, Davis graduated Cum Laude from the University of Western States, in 2008.
The University of Western States is a nonprofit university in Portland that offers programs in such areas as chiropractic, naturopathic medicine, occupational therapy, sports medicine, and more.
In an interview with Parade, Davis says, “I’m the CEO of a company that I founded about 10, 12 years ago, called RunLab. We do running biomechanics analysis, therapy for active people and runners, especially triathletes, that whole world. ”
Davis also talks about how when she was young, she taught herself to play the trumpet “because that was the one instrument my elementary school had left to loan me. So I taught myself to play. Ended up putting myself through college on a trumpet scholarship.”

After not pursuing music for years, Davis said, after the COVID pandemic shutdowns lifted, “I started working on putting a band together. And fast forward to now, and I have a touring band. We did 17 states and two countries last year. In 2023, I was named CME of Texas American Artist of the Year. Assigned to a label, won some awards. And yeah, it’s a really cool thing. So my band’s called Trashy Annie.”
“Survivor” Season 49 premieres with a two-hour episode at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 on CBS.
