A West Donegal driver has been arrested after Gardai discovered their car had not been taxed for more than 1,000 days.

The driver was stopped in the Derrybeg area yesterday morning by members of Milford Roads Policing Unit.

Upon closer inspections, officers found the car also had no NCT and that the driver had no insurance.

Car seized the car at the scene.

A spokesperson said a fixed charge penalty notice will be issued and a court appearance will follow.
