Aruna got her first lead role as an actress in the Mehmood-produced film Bombay To Goa (1972) opposite Amitabh Bachchan. After the success of the cult comedy, Aruna Irani worked in several big-budget films. In the 80s and 90s, she started playing supporting roles in films like Sansar, Beta, Chaalbaaz, Suhaag and so on. Aruna got married to Kuku Kohli in 1990. They don’t have children.
