The body of a woman has been found in Lurgan, after police had been searching for a missing person.

Formal identification has not taken place but police said they have informed the family of Caitlin Green, 24.

Ms Green, also known as Caity, had been missing since January 31 after she left a friend’s home in the Derry Street/Lord Lurgan Park area.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) had asked people to help their search by checking outbuildings near the area where she was last seen.

The PSNI said that extensive police searches have taken place and their detectives are also reviewing all available CCTV and following all investigative leads and tips.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police can confirm that the body of a woman has been located in the Princes Street area of Lurgan this afternoon, Saturday 7th February.

“Whilst formal identification has not taken place, the family of Caitlin Green, who has been missing since Saturday afternoon, 31st January has been informed.”
