A south west Donegal National School with just four pupils has published a new video to help boost enrolment for the forthcoming year.

It emerged last month that the future of the three-teacher Fintra NS, near Killybegs, was in doubt.

As a result, a major enrolment drive swung into operation. Two weeks ago, the school held a ‘well attended’ open day and they also launched a new video (below) highlighting their excellent facilities.

Arising from a public meeting, a survey of  prospective children was also conducted.

“There has been wide media coverage highlighting the campaign to encourage new enrolments,” a spokesperson for the school’s Board of Management said.

“It was decided to offer a preschool, breakfast club and after-school service from September 2026,  subject to numbers. Existing parents are available to chat with any  prospective parents. New enrolments would be very welcome”.
