A MAN has been arrested and charged by gardai investigating a shooting incident at a house in Limerick city late last year.
A number of shots were fired at the property – at Hyde Road – in the early hours of November 8, 2024 – sparking a major in investigation.
While nobody was injured, the incident sparked concerns amid rising tension in the area around the time.
In an update, issued this Saturday morning, gardai confirmed there has been a significant development in the case and that a man has been arrested.
“The man, aged in his 40s, who was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a Garda Station in the Limerick Division has since been charged,” said a spokesperson.

The man, gardai have confirmed, is due to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at the courts complex on Mulgrave Street, this Saturday evening.
Gardai say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
