A metal band has revealed that it is “parting ways” with its lead singer.

Better Lovers is separating from Greg Puciato, the band said on social media Tuesday.

“Better Lovers is parting ways with Greg Puciato. We’re proud of the work we’ve done together but we are moving in another direction,” Better Lovers wrote in an Instagram post on Feb. 24.

“To all of our fans, thank you for riding with us these past few years. We’ve accomplished so much in such a short time with your support and we’re still beyond excited to continue down this road with you,” the post continued. “The four of us are finishing writing a new album which we are extremely proud of and currently looking for a new singer. Thanks for your understanding, we’ll see you soon.”

While no reason was given for Pucaito’s departure, the singer commented on the separation on his own Instagram Story.

“No bad blood. Everyone’s cool. Don’t speculate,” he wrote. “Love these people and love the band. Rooting for them all collectively and individually. Thanks everyone for making the last few years special. Long live the frog.”

Better Lovers formed in Buffalo, New York in 2023 following the disbandment of Every Time I Die. The metal group consists of guitarists Jordan Buckley and Will Putney, bassist Stephen Micciche, and drummer Clayton Holyoak. Puciato has been featured on two Better Lovers projects: 2023’s “God Made Me an Animal” and 2024’s “Highly Irresponsible,” the latter which served as the band’s debut album.

Just a few weeks ago, Better Lovers shared that the band was having “so fun together” while on tour in Australia.

“Of all the places we’ve flown 20 hours to play, your gorgeous country is our favorite. So here is a slightly belated but very loud thank you to every old friend and new face that packed in to see us at the end of last month,” the group wrote in a Feb. 12 Instagram post.

“Better Lovers has been petal to the metal for almost three years now. Around the world and back. It’s going to feel nice to ease our feet off the gas ever so slightly and decide what to do with these 22 files marinating in this ‘new songs’ folder,” the post continued. “So while we put some more meat on those bones please know, from the bottoms of our hearts, we have nothing but the most love and the most gratitude for everyone that’s helped make our dreams a reality thus far. See you when we’re ready.”
