A confident Meath put their defeat to Cork behind them and boosted their promotion hopes with a comprehensive dismantling of a poor Kildare side at Cedral St Conleth’s Park.
Meath, boosted by the inclusion of All-Star full-back Seán Rafferty, had Kildare chasing shadows in the opening quarter, much to the delight of their traveling support who outnumbered the locals. A return of 1-7 to 0-1 inside the opening 16 minutes gave them a platform they never looked like relinquishing.
