A large contingent of friends and colleagues from across Donegal will travel to Galway today for the funeral of sporting legend Ollie Horgan.

Mr Horgan, who was 57, died on Thursday last following a brave battle with cancer.

A former teacher at St Eunan’s College in Letterkenny, he was a native of Galway.

He came to Letterkenny in the late 80s to begin his teaching career and left a huge mark on many lives.

He played for and managed Fanad United but will be especially remembered for his service to Finn Harps and the remarkable job he did at Finn Park.

His Requiem Mass will take place at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill at 12 noon.

He will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery following his funeral mass.
