BTS member Jimin’s agency, BigHit Music, has finally addressed the dating rumors surrounding the K-pop idol and actress Song Da Eun.
In a statement obtained by the South Korean news agency Yonhap, the music label confirmed that the two were in a relationship some years back.
“They were romantically involved several years ago, but they are no longer in a relationship,” BigHit Music said in a statement, as reported by Yonhap.
According to BigHit, they initially chose not to comment out of respect for the other party, but with rumors spreading, they felt it necessary to clarify the situation.
“We refrained from commenting on the matter out of respect for the other party. Due to speculative reports and false rumors regarding the artist’s private life, however, we felt it necessary to clarify the basic facts,” they said.
BigHit also urged the public to avoid spreading “baseless speculations” about Jimin’s personal life and to refrain from any actions that might cause harm to Da Eun.
Jimin and Da Eun were caught in a dating rumor after a video from the actress’ TikTok account went viral.
According to The Korea Herald, the clip, which was taken and posted many months ago, showed the actress from outside an apartment elevator surprising a man who appeared to be Jimin.
Da Eun is known for her roles in various Korean dramas such as “Once Again,” and “Hold My Hand,” among others.
Meanwhile, Jimin and his fellow BTS member Jungkook got discharged from the South Korean military in June.
