Three housing developments have been officially opened in Ballyvary, Castlebar and Carnacon, and the sod turned on Phase Three at Lios na Circe, Castlebar at a development comprising of a number of homes.

The sod was turned on these developments today by local Minister Alan Dillon.

In total, 12 new homes were opened in Ballyvarry, four new apartments in Castlebar, and nine new homes in Carnacon.

Speaking at the openings, Minister Dillon said: “Today is a proud day for Mayo. These 25 new high‑spec homes, together with the 37 now moving to construction, show the real, tangible progress being made in delivering high‑quality, affordable homes for people across the county.

He added that the developments “reflect the Government’s commitment to ensuring every part of Ireland benefits from sustained housing investment, not just our major cities.”
