Colin Farrell has offered an update on how much of Oz Cobb/The Penguin we should expect to see in The Batman Part II.
Farrell spoke with Deadline at the Telluride Film Festival in support of his new film The Ballad of a Small Player. The conversation inevitably turned to his continuing role as the Penguin across Matt Reeves’ Batman Epic Crime Saga. Next up he will begin filming The Batman Part II in April 2026, but it doesn’t appear he will be in much. “I haven’t got much to do on it, just a little bit. I read the script and it’s extraordinary,” said the actor.
As for if he’s up for a second season of The Penguin, he’s not super anxious to revisit that project. “I have no idea if it’s happening. I know that I heard rumblings that they were thinking they’d like to do a second season, but I don’t know if it’s a good idea. I don’t know the way you go back to the trough … And part of me wants to go, ‘Just let it go people. We got away with it. Leave it as it is.’”
He went on to add, “But, look, if they came up with a fantastic idea or something like that, of course I’d be open to it.”
It seems unlikely we’ll be seeing another season of The Penguin, but it doesn’t look like the book is completely closed as of yet.
The Batman Part II is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
