Ireland No 1 says players must put pressure on themselves to make it to World Cup

Facing out into a room of reporters, microphones and cameras is far from Caoimhín Kelleher’s natural habitat. The last line of defence on a football pitch is where he feels more comfortable.

But, in the year when he turns 27, Kelleher is making that transition from one for the future to the man for the present, with his departure from Liverpool to become an established Premier League first-choice goalkeeper at Brentford reflecting the new maturity of his standing.
