The inaugural winners of the University of Galway’s Nelson Mandela Leadership Award will relinquish their titles in protest of the university’s continued partnership with an Israeli institution.
University of Galway graduates Dylan and Shane O’Halloran are to return their awards during this year’s anti-racism week to protest the university’s ties with Technion, an Israeli institution that is participating in a research project titled Asterisk, which is coordinated by the University of Galway.
