Radio Kerry understands that up to 60 Ukrainians living in a Waterville holiday home complex have been given notice of eviction.
21 homes in the Lough Currane Holiday home village in Southview Terrace Waterville had been providing accommodation to Ukrainians as Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection.
The development had been part of an IPAS housing contract since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 before being transferred to the Accommodation Recognition Payment programme more recently.
The homes are up for sale and residents were informed yesterday they would have to vacate by the 14th of August this year.
Under the terms of the ARP programme residents are entitled to 14 days notice but the company have given over 4 months.
Some of those living in the development work locally.
It’s understood attempts are being made to try and rehome as many of the residents as possible in the local area.
