Conditions will turn more unsettled in the latter part of this week following the recent drier, milder period.

This morning will bring a bright, sunny start, particularly in the west. There will be mist and cloud elsewhere at first, but it will be dry overall.

During the afternoon, cloud will build up, bringing a chance of rain or drizzle in counties along the west coast. It will be another mild day today with highs of 11 to 17C, coolest in those western coastal areas.

Rain and drizzle will continue and spread eastwards at first tonight before clear spells develop later on, with lows of 3 to 6C.

A mix of sunny spells and scattered “blustery” showers is forecast for Thursday. Some showers will turn heavy with a chance of hail and thunder.

It will be cooler than recent days with highest temperatures of 8 to 10C.

7 Day Weather Forecast

Overnight on Thursday, conditions will be dry before more cloudy spreads across the country, bringing rain and drizzle, with lows of 1 to 6C.

Friday will be a “wet and windy day” with gales on the west and north coasts. Heavy rain is possible, particularly during the late afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures will be between 7 and 10C.

That rain will clear up on Friday night, with conditions turning dry and clear for most. Lows will be between 1 and 5C.

Heading into the weekend, Saturday will start off “crisp and sunny” before more blustery showers spread from the west. Some of those showers will again be heavy with a chance of hail and thunder, with highs of 8 to 11C.

Sunday is expected to be another dry and bright day at first before showers spread again from the west, again turning heavy at times.

The early part of next week is expected to continue much the same, with mixed and “changeable” weather forecast.
