Karan Johar Finally Breaks Silence On Takht Getting Shelved, Calls It ‘Heartbreaking’: Every Film Has Its Fate

Karan Johar is one of the top directors in Bollywood today. His films have been ruling the box office for decades now. The filmmaker has a large following on social media, and his posts are often well-received by his fans or heavily criticized by netizens. Karan’s one of the most-awaited films, Takht, was shelved and fans were heartbroken. In a recent interview, KJo finally broke his silence on Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Anil Kapoor starrer.

Karan Johar On Takht Getting Shelved

During a recent press meet for Teja Sajja starrer Telugu film Mirai, Karan shared his interest to helm a historical epic. He said, “I was on the onset of making a feature film that was a historical period. And for various circumstances, including the pandemic, there was a stop to that film.”

Further, he added, “Sumit Roy wrote the screenplay of the film. I had researched the film for two and a half years. It was heartbreaking when I couldn’t make it. I did dabble. I think every film has its time and fate. Hopefully, in my trajectory, I am still very young, there will be such a film.”

“I firmly believe the kind of technical finesse and the kind of passion to tell a story of this magnitude is something I am not even sure I am capable of. When I see filmmakers like Karthik tell stories, I feel like I am a student, more than a filmmaker, and I am learning. When I watch the brilliance of Baahubali and when I see the passion and conviction of Mirai, I feel I don’t know if I am capable. And it is always better to kind of acknowledge your weaknesses and not pretend it is your strength,” the filmmaker concluded.

More About Mirai

Coming back to Mirai, it is a two-part Indian superhero film starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, with Manchu Manoj as the main antagonist.

The film is all set to release on September 12.
