‘The Traitors Ireland’ host Siobhán McSweeney

If the main reaction to The Traitors Ireland (RTÉ One, Monday/Tuesday, 9.35pm) could be summed up with a single emotion, it would be relief that RTÉ has finally managed to make a programme that people are looking forward to watching each night, rather than just being made to feel that they should out of a grim sense of patriotic duty.

They really need not have worried. The Traitors is like one of those model airplane kits that young boys used to put together with glue before PlayStations came along to fry their brains. As long as you follow the instructions that come with the box, the finished product should look and feel exactly like all the others.
