‘You simply do not know what you’re purchasing’ – black market tries to capitalise on weight-loss drugs with knock-offs

The public has been warned of fake Ozempic and Mounjaro weight-loss products as over 10,800 so-called “microneedle patches”, falsely claiming to contain active ingredients, have been seized.
The medicines watchdog, the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), said in the first six months of the year customs officers seized a total of 11,350 of these weight-loss jab-type medicines.
