A FORMER pub and general store in County Limerick, dating back over a century, will go under the virtual hammer next month.
The historic building in Ardpatrick is being sold by Paddy Carroll, of Carroll Auctioneers, Kilmallock, via iamsold.ie (unless previously sold) on Thursday, May 14. The starting price is €195,000.

Mr Carroll said charming property offers endless potential for entrepreneurs, investors, or those seeking a unique space to bring their vision to life.
“This former public house has a dominant position in the small, picturesque village of Ardpatrick, a setting with stunning views, drawing locals and visitors alike.
“The building, which is circa 260 sqm, is modest in design but the addition of brick detailing to the window and door surrounds enlivens its functional appearance.
“The dual accommodation of pub and house is a feature becoming increasingly rare within the Irish countryside,” said Mr Carroll.
The auctioneer says an adjoining outbuilding has been totally refurbished and is ready for immediate occupation. The property sits on half an acre.
The new owners will be purchasing a piece of history. Old ledgers from Sunvale Inn were discovered during renovations in 2017, according to the Ardpatrick Facebook page.
Dating from a period between 1899 and 1903, they feature a unique snapshot of what people were buying and indeed how much it was costing.
“It is great to see that something that was drowned wet and could easy have been thrown in a skip, has been saved and preserved for posterity,” they wrote.
