A leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s bold reforms is yielding positive results.
This is as he reaffirmed his unreserved commitment to the unity of APC under the control of the state leader, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola and the national leader, Pa Bisi Akande.
Speaking at a meeting with the expanded caucus of Osun APC women wing on Saturday, Ogunbiyi noted that Tinubu is an uncommon transformative leader who has timeously shown visionary and courageous leadership by the removal of fuel subsidy and liberalisation of foreign exchange.
“In Nigeria of today, we no longer experience harrowing queues at various filling stations; businesses can enjoy unhindered access to stable foreign exchange; and all sub-nationals have enough resources to expand the prism of socioeconomic development for the people.
“These are undeniable gains of what courage, ingenuity and vision can birth for any nation that has a transformative leader such as President Tinubu”, he said.
He further expressed that President Tinubu has freed Nigeria from the shackles of economic cankerworms that could have been a transgenerational encumbrance, noting that recoveries and gains brought by the President are speaking for themselves as well as his reelection.
Speaking on his gubernatorial aspiration, Dr. Ogunbiyi restated his indignation at a do-or-die politics, while giving his reassurance on an unflinching loyalty to the party’s unity under the control of the State Leader, Alh. Adegboyega Oyetola and the national leader, Pa Bisi Akande.
“This is third term I am contesting and my ambition has also been defined by service and not self-centeredness. I therefore, seek the support and prayers of all women who are the fulcrum of our trajectory, as I assure you of prioritizing your welfare”, he stated.
While speaking on behalf of the APC women wing, the State Women Leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, commended Dr. Ogunbiyi for his dedication to the progress and unity of the party, reiterating the need to continue advancing the interest of women at all levels.
