Windfarms and operators of sub-sea cables are waiting months, and in some cases over a year, to get decisions on maritime licence applications from a new agency the Government set up to streamline the process.

There have been representations to Energy Minister Darragh O’Brien about the length of time the Maritime Area Regulatory Agency (Mara) has taken in some cases.
