The ABC Classic 100 is the annual countdown of Australia’s favourite classical music. Since 2001, we’ve invited you to vote for the classical works you love, each year guided by a different theme, with the results revealed over the June long weekend.
In 2026, we’re going back to the beginning and asking you a bold question: What is the greatest classical piece of all time? This special theme marks ABC Classic’s 50th anniversary, celebrating the greatest music heard on ABC Classic across the past five decades.
What are the key dates for the ABC Classic 100: Greatest of All Time?

- Voting closes at the end of ABC Classic Drive, Thursday 28 May (8pm AEST)
- Join us for the ABC Classic 100 Countdown on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June from 10am AEST

What music can I vote for?
Vote for the works that you think are the greatest of all time!
Browse and preview the music on the voting list, and search through the categories for inspiration. You can vote for up to 10 pieces (because choosing just one is too hard!)
When you submit your top ten, you also have the option to nominate your number one choice of what you think is the greatest piece of all time.
If you would like to vote for a piece which isn’t on the list, you will be able to add any piece to your own voting list. Just search for the piece you want to add, scroll to the bottom of the suggestions and hit the link that says, “Add a piece manually”.
For your voting shortlist, there is also an AUTO VOTING feature. This feature will submit your top 10 votes for you if you forget to lock them in by the time voting closes on Thursday 28 May. All you have to do is toggle the ‘Submit my votes’ option on. There have been thousands of lost votes in previous years, and we want to make sure you get your say.
