Around 350 people attended an India Day Celebration in Ardkeen Library this morning along with Waterford City and County Mayor Seamus Ryan.
Library staff said they were delighted with attendance figures as staff wanted to show their support for the Indian Community.
There have been a number of recent high profile attacks on members of the Indian community in Ireland, including an attack on a child in Waterford.
