Dawn’s anxiety comes as she spots how genuinely excited Joe is over the news that they’re expecting a baby together.
With Joe revealing the softer side that others don’t often get to see, Dawn can’t help envisioning a future with him after all.
Heading to Wishing Well cottage to speak with Moira, apprehensive Dawn explains: “Joe’s told the kids I’m pregnant, and now it’s all they’re talking about.
“They think they’ve got this whole Home Farm family life stretching in front of them. It doesn’t even exist. You’ve no idea how close they are to him now. He’s a different person with us, okay? I know you don’t get it, you won’t believe it, but it’s true.”

Later, Dawn appears to be siding against the Dingles when she vents to Joe about Belle holding her back at Take A Vow.
With his hatred for the family never far from the surface, Joe offers to give Dawn the money to buy Belle out of the business – boasting that the bold move will put Belle “in her place”.
As Dawn then reports back to Moira and Belle, it’s clear that Joe has fallen into a trap.
“We dangled the bait, and he bit – bit hard,” Dawn confirms. “The money’s going to be in my account tomorrow. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
With Moira and Belle stunned by just how easy this has been, could there be a sting in the tail in the long run?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
