Nearly 30 years after his titular Good Will Hunting character memorably burned a snooty college dude by asking if he liked apples, Matt Damon is on the receiving end of that same query in a bit promoting his Saturday Night Live hosting gig this weekend.

“Hey Matt, do you like apples?” castmember Ben Marshall asks Damon.

“Come on, man, don’t do this,” replies Damon, who’s probably heard the question thousands of times from fans and passersby on the street.

“What? I’m just asking a question,” retorts Marshall.

After a deep exhale, a visibly weary Damon answers, “Fine. Fine. Yes.”

Suffice it to say, Marshall’s next line takes Damon by surprise.

Watch below.

Damon returns to SNL for his third time as host on May 9 with musical guest Noah Kahan for his second go-round. The Oscar winner next will be seen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which hits theaters July 17. Grammy nominee Kahan’s fourth album, The Great Divide, will be released April 24.

An apparently insane Will Ferrell, incidentally, returns for his sixth time as host on season 51 finale May 16, with Paul McCartney, returning for his fifth time as musical guest.
