Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle finally undergoes his major surgery next week, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year. But while things go according to plan at the hospital, the resident hardman is reluctant to return home.
In upcoming episodes, Cain is finally ready to have his prostatectomy, which was delayed due to his recent hit-and-run accident. When the day of the important operation arrives, Cain and Moira try to put on a brave face for each other.

Meanwhile, over at the cafe, Kyle is less composed about his dad’s impending surgery and later panics when he sees Cain being wheeled off into theatre.
After a nerve-racking wait, the family are delighted to hear that Cain’s operation went well. But while his loved ones are breathing a sigh of relief, Cain is faced with yet another challenge in his cancer journey.
As the doctors explain his new catheter, Cain fears he could be left permanently incontinence, and fakes pain to avoid being discharged. Moira is frustrated by her husband’s actions and sends Sarah over to have a word.
At the hospital, Sarah confronts her grandad about his decision, calling him out on his self-pity. Her blunt words prompt Cain to listen to reason, but he finds it’s difficult to recuperate once he returns to home.

Later, Cain has a further setback in his recovery when Moira finally admits Robert Sugden’s part in her arrest. When he learns that Robert was the one who framed his wife, he explodes in a fit of rage.
Moira begs him to let it go, fearing the repercussions for everyone involved. But while he initially agrees, Cain later begins plotting his revenge, starting with knocking Robert unconscious and holding him hostage.
How far will Cain go to teach him a lesson? Could another Dingle find themselves behind bars once again?
