Channel 4 has announced that The Celebrity Traitors winner and Last One Laughing UK season 2’s second eliminee, Alan Carr, and Countdown’s Dictionary Corner legend, Susie Dent, are returning with more Secret Genius.
The show sees regular people from across the country take part in Mensa challenges to prove their IQ, with plenty of surprises along the way.
Season 1 launched in January, with 2.1 million views for the first episode so far, and not only has Channel 4 commissioned a second season, but it will have seven episodes rather than six.

“I’m absolutely thrilled Secret Genius is back and to be doing this alongside Susie again!” Alan said. “We met people last series with unbelievable brains who had no idea how brilliant they were, and watching that penny drop was genuinely magical.
“This series feels really special – bigger, more playful, and giving everyone at home the chance to join in and maybe discover a bit of hidden genius themselves. I can’t wait to meet our next batch of undercover geniuses… and try to keep up!”
Meanwhile, Susie said that she and Alan are “delighted” to “a new chance to discover people who have as yet no idea just how special they are”.
She added: “The first series of Secret Genius proved genuinely life-changing for some of our participants, and it was a privilege to see their new-found confidence. I’m already excited at the prospect of witnessing some more incredible minds!”

Meanwhile, Alan is following up his The Celebrity Traitors win with the new show, Castle Man, which follows the comedian as he tries to buy and run his own castle.
If that sounds like Clarkson’s Farm, you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s being created by the same production company.
“Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me – I want my very own castle,” Alan said, adding: “As I turn 50, I feel it’s my time. All I want is a turret to call my own – get me over that drawbridge!”
Secret Genius season 1 is available to stream on Channel 4.
