Robert Irwin is showing off his fancy footwork once again. The son of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve, has captured people’s attention with a new commercial. In the ad, he’s running through the Outback with inflatable crocodiles around him.
That’s all part of a new campaign to show off the traction and speed of a popular footwear brand in the demanding elements of Australia. In addition to the ad, there’s a fake movie trailer called Max Impact featuring the conservationist.
The DWTS champ has partnered with Columbia
On many occasions of late, Robert has been defined by his feet, so perhaps it’s only fitting to see him in a footwear commercial. He is teaming up with Columbia, which introduced the Tellurix Titanium OutDry shoe. It puts Robert through the ultimatum test with its traction, performance and all-around performance.
On its website, Columbia notes how good Robert has been on his feet, from winning Dancing with the Stars to now outrunning crocodiles. As such, they say he knows all about being an action star. “He never holds anything back – wrangling wildlife in the outback, owning the dance floor, or outrunning a herd of rabid inflatable crocodile,” said Matt Sutton, the Head of Marketing at Columbia Sportswear.
Everything he does seems to capture the allure of others. In September, Robert caught the eye of many by posing in his underwear. This was part of a campaign for Bonds, and fittingly, he had snakes, lizards and spiders around him.
The shoe is seen as capable of tackling the toughest terrain and overcoming obstacles. It goes on to claim it can handle the wettest and toughest conditions out there. In addition to the shoes, Robert has on cargo shorts and a short-sleeve shirt, both from Columbia.
After winning DWTS, Robert is preparing to host a spinoff called The Next Pro. It premieres on July 13.
