Margot Robbie has revealed a pesonal fact about her self that people have been getting wrong for more than a decade.
Despite being on the big and small screens for nearly 20 years, it seems everyone has the wrong idea of where the 35-year-old Australian was born.
Her Wikipedia page previously said she was born in Dalby, a rural Queensland town more than 200 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
But Margot said the “internet has had my place of birth wrong … the whole time” in an interview with Magic FM this week.
“I was born on the Gold Coast,” the Neighbour’s actress-turned Hollywood star said.
“It’s not a stupid rumour.
“It’s just amazing that this far along it’s still incorrect.”

She said that while her family is from Dalby, she wasn’t born in the small town.
Her Wikipedia page from 2008 to 2013 stated only that she came from the Gold Coast, but in 2014, it was updated to claim that Dalby was where she was born.
That information stuck for 12 years until the May 12 interview.
After being born in the Queensland city, she spent the first few years of her life in Dalby, then moved back to the Gold Coast with her siblings after her parents separated.
In an interview with Vogue, the Aussie star said she doesn’t typically like to talk about her father.

“Just because it’s hard to briefly mention without it sounding like ‘My dad’s awful and…’ That whole thing. But yes, Mum and Dad split up,” she told the outlet.
She has nothing but praise for her mum, Sarie, for raising her and her three brothers and sister, Anya, Lachlan, and Cameron.
“She’s an amazing woman,” Margot told The Resident in 2017.
She said the kids didn’t make it easy on Sarie as they were constantly fighting and their mum was “very strong” for holding “things together” during those formative years.
The now-Oscar nominee added that her upbringing in Dalby and the Gold Coast was not what you might think.

“[We] went boar-hunting and surfing, and I grew up learning more about agriculture and animal husbandry than you could imagine,” she said.
Margot had a keen interest in drama and performing once she was in school, and her mum even enrolled her into a circus academy.
She scored roles in two thrillers in 2008-09 while she was still in high school, but it was her role as Donna Freedman in Neighbours that helped her become a household name across Australia.
It wasn’t until 2013, when she was cast as Naomi Lapaglia in Martin Scorcese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, that the whole world knew her name.
Incredibly, that was only her fourth movie, and she’s since gone on to star in or produce dozens more.
