But following straight on from the dramatic events of Vicki and Ross’ wedding, this June the BBC soap will air a week of episodes that will all take place across the course of one night.
Titled ‘The Night That Changes Everything’, these episodes will see the Beale, Branning, Knight and Fox-Trueman families all at the heart of some huge drama. EastEnders has revealed that events which take place on this explosive evening will have major repercussions for those involved and their families.
A new trailer released, set to a soundtrack of ‘Changes’ by David Bowie, shows a host of characters enjoying an evening in The Vic. But as the clock ticks, the world begins to turn upside down for four residents.
Centred in this trailer are Denise, Ian, Max and George, who appear to be the four main players in this life-changing week of episodes – and new pictures released alongside the trailer show who else is affected by each of these stories.
Denise is pictured with Yolande and Jack, and we already know that soon the Walford icon is going to get a devastating blood cancer diagnosis that will no doubt play into this dramatic week.

George’s story involves his partner Nicola, who is currently keeping a big secret from him. Nicola has convinced George to allow his evil dad Eddie to live with them in his dying days, but what he doesn’t know is that Nicola has done this to get a large sum of money from Eddie.
Max is pictured with his girlfriend Cindy and his children Lauren and Oscar. With New Year’s Day, an episode we saw in a flashforward, fast approaching, viewers will be watching closely for any more answers about Max’s predicament on 1 January.
Finally, Ian’s story is set to involve Chelsea – but how will these two seemingly unlinked characters intersect, and what will this mysterious week hold for them both?
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
