Survivor Season 48 Week 11 Recap

The episode begins with the castaways returning to camp after the two tribal councils. Cirie is annoyed that Rick and Emily tried to vote her out. Rick hopes he can find another advantage to help him out.

The second group returns, and Cirie is surprised to see Ozzy was voted out. Rizo says he voted Ozzy out since he was a sinking ship. He hopes this will mean Cirie will need him more. He explains to Cirie how Ozzy talked too much. Cirie wonders if Ozzy tried to drag her down. Rizo tells Cirie how Ozzy revealed all the details about his and Cirie’s games to Aubry before tribal council. Cirie is flabbergasted. In her confessional, she says she wouldn’t have aligned with him if she knew that was how he was going to play.

Meanwhile, Jonathan is glad he succeeded in taking out Ozzy with an idol in his pocket. Jonathan is feeling good about what’s he accomplished in the game so far. He says he feels like $2 million. In her confessional, Aubry shares that she thinks she should get the credit for the Ozzy vote instead of Jonathan. She says she is the one who “drove the nail into the coffin.” Aubry hopes she can get to the end of the game while taking out all the threats.

The next morning, Rick goes searching for a hidden immunity idol before sunrise. Jonathan goes to follow him since he doesn’t want Rick to get it. Jonathan follows him like a shadow to the amusement of the other castaways. In her confessional, Aubry says it’s better for Rick to make himself public enemy #1. Rick eventually takes a break from idol hunting and goes lie on the hammock. Rick says he doesn’t want to admit defeat before breaking down and crying.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They must use a rope to balance a wobbly table while stacking letter blocks. The first player to spell “immunity” will win immunity. They are also playing for a food reward that includes barbecue ribs. The challenge begins, and there is a back and forth among them as many people keep dropping their blocks. Eventually, Joe takes the lead and only needs to place one more block. He succeeds without anyone else getting close to catching up. Joe wins immunity! He is allowed to pick one person to join him on reward. He picks Cirie. Jeff tells him to pick one more person. He picks Rizo.

We see Joe, Cirie, and Rizo enjoy their reward. They talk game, and they agree Rick is the straightforward vote tonight. Rizo wonders if he can keep his idol since he seems to be safe tonight. However, back at camp, Tiffany wants to blindside Rizo to get rid of his idol. She thinks Rick can be voted out next time. Later, Rick lets Aubry know about Tiffany’s plan to vote out Rizo. She hears Rick’s plan, but Aubry admits in her confessional that she views Rick as the bigger threat. She doubts a jury would give Rizo $2 million if they view him as an annoying kid.

Tiffany lets Jonathan know about her idea to blindside Rizo. He hears her out, but he wants to speak with Cirie first. Tiffany gives her pitch to Cirie next. Cirie says that Rick needs to be the one to go tonight. In her confessional, she says she doesn’t want to lose another ally. She already lost Ozzy, so she will do what she can to save Rizo tonight.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff talks about the immunity challenge first and Joe’s picks for the reward. Joe says everyone seemed “all right” with his decisions. He said he wanted to be fair. However, others argue how Rizo got food at the auction. Tiffany adds that Rizo wasted his food at the auction. Jonathan points out that he only got a sea slug at the auction.

The talk then turns to who is going home tonight. Cirie says it was the usual suspects before Rick raises his hand. Rick says he searched for a hidden immunity idol since he feels like he’s in trouble. Tiffany says they need to figure out who is a threat to their own individual games. Rizo says he’ll play his hidden immunity idol tonight if he feels like he needs to. He knows his name is on the chopping block too. Aubry says it’s important to figure out the timing of when to make moves. Rick says he wanted to play a different way, but he ended up playing like he did the first time. Rick says he had more fun this time before breaking down in tears while talking about looking at the stars. Afterwards, it’s time for the vote.

Before Jeff reads the votes, Rick plays his Shot in the Dark advantage. Jeff opens the scroll. It says “Not safe.” Any votes cast for Rick will still count.

The first vote is for…

Rick

Rick

Rick is the eighteenth person voted out and the eighth member of the jury. He gives everyone a hug before getting his torch snuffed.

The next morning, Tiffany regrets not voting for Rizo. She knew he wasn’t going to play his hidden immunity idol. She thinks he’ll hold on to his idol again, so she wants to try voting for him tonight. However, Aubry thinks Tiffany is a bigger threat. Aubry shares her concern about Tiffany to Jonathan and Joe. She says Tiffany is a well-rounded player that could win the game. Later, Jonathan gives Rizo a heads up that Tiffany is targeting him. Jonathan tells him not to tell Cirie, but Rizo tells her anyway. Cirie asks what is the plan if Tiffany wins immunity, and Rizo says he doesn’t know. He says they just can’t let Tiffany win immunity.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They must go through a series of obstacles and collect letters blocks. They must spell out “inconceivable” in an arch with their letter blocks. The first person to complete the challenge will win immunity. The challenge begins. Jonathan takes the early lead while Cirie falls behind in last place.

Jonathan and Joe are the first to begin working on the puzzle. They start working together to figure out what to spell. Joe wonders if the word is “inconceivable,” but Joe admits he can’t spell it. They also ask Aubry and Rizo for the answer while Tiffany gets to the puzzle too.

Aubry, Rizo, Joe, and Joanthan all share the answer among each other. They know the word is “inconceivable.” Aubry is giving Joe help while Tiffany is the only one working alone. Joe and Jonathan think they completed the challenge, but they misspelled the word. Jeff tells them to try again. Tiffany is the first to correctly spell “inconceivable.” Tiffany wins immunity!

The castaways return to camp after the immunity challenge. They’re disappointed they couldn’t beat Tiffany. They need to shift to a new plan. Aubry says it’s time for Cirie to go. She says Cirie will win if she makes it to the end of the game. Aubry shares her thoughts with Rizo. In his confessional, Rizo says it would be heartbreaking to vote out Cirie. However, he knows Cirie will sweep a jury. Rizo feels like he can still save himself with his idol even if his plan to blindside Cirie blows up in his face.

Meanwhile, Cirie knows she’s in trouble after Tiffany won immunity. Cirie and Tiffany want to vote for Aubry tonight. They need another vote, so Cirie wants to try to get Jonathan’s vote. Cirie tells Jonathan she knows about his plan to blindside Tiffany tonight, but she lies and says she heard about it from Aubry instead of Rizo. Jonathan says they should vote for Aubry. Jonathan tells Joe what Cirie told him. Later, Joe asks Aubry if she told Cirie about the Tiffany plan. Aubry denies it, and she pushes that Cirie should be voted out tonight. Jonathan and Joe are wavering, and they are leaning towards voting out Aubry tonight. However, Rizo wants to keep the target on Cirie. Before tribal council, Cirie and Aubry know that they are on the chopping block tonight.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff asks if anyone is still surprised to be in the game. Everyone raises their hands. Cirie says it’s mind-blowing. Rizo says they are all here to win the game, and tonight’s vote will reveal where everyone stands. Joe adds it’s a tight group now and there’s nowhere to hide. Aubry says information went around very fast. Tiffany adds that Rizo still has an idol. Joe says they might make a decision based on “what ifs?” if they don’t focus on what’s in front of them.

Jeff asks about the tension level. Aubry says it’s 99/100. Aubry says it’s “do or die” tonight. Jeff points out how Aubry and Cirie have gotten very close before. Aubry says they can’t forget it. Cirie says they’re haunted by getting voted out so close to the end. She says it feels like she’s fighting for her life. Afterwards, it’s time for the vote.

We see Aubry vote for Cirie and Cirie vote for Aubry. But who will be voted out tonight?

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for…

Aubry
