Singing for Germany in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is singer and television personality Sarah Engles.
The 33-year-old, who’s formerly known as Sarah Lombardi, will be representing her country in the final of this year’s competition which takes place in the Austrian city of Vienna on Saturday night (May 16).
Sara was selected by Germany’s Eurovision body SWR after taking part in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which she went on to win. With Germany being one of the ‘Big Four’, her place in the final was guaranteed without having to take on a semi-final.

Born in Cologne, Sara first rose to national recognition in 2011 through her participation in Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar. From her she landed success in the charts and received an Echo award nomination for her debut single Call My Name and its accompanying album Heartbeat.
Sarah is no stranger to the world of television, having come second in the German version of Strictly Come Dancing, Let’s Dance, and winning Das große Promibacken, The Masked Singer and Dancing on Ice. In 2025, she released her most recent album Strong Girls Club.
If all that wasn’t enough for one person, last year saw her take the lead role in the Cologne production of Moulin Rouge. Previously married to fellow singer Pietro Lombardi, Sarah has been married to footballer Julian Büscher since 2021.
Germany are heading into the event with little chance of lifting the glass microphone trophy, with their odds of winning 250/1 ahead of the show, according to bookies Ladbrokes.

The lyrics in full for Fire
“Stop denying, ′nying, no lying, lying no more. Boy, I’m out of your league. Nonsense, what you′ve been doing to me. Just know that I could take my revenge. I could go out with all of your friends
“I could fake it ’til I make it, but I won’t (Fake it ′til I make it, but I won′t). If you crave it, you could take it, but you don’t. (Crave it, you could take it, but you don′t). I don’t want it, I don′t need it. And I won’t let you repeat it. You just play until you break it and it′s blown (blown, blown).
“I’m on fire, fire. You’re a liar, liar. Stop denying, ′nying, no lying, lying no more. Like a vampire, you hide and come out the night. Stop denying, ′nying, no lying, lying no more.
“I’m on fire, fire. (I′m on fire, fire). Stop denying, ‘nying, no lying, lying no more. Just wait a minute, you′re gonna see (see, see). That you won’t find another like me. You′ll come around and I’ll be too late. ‘Cause I won′t do the same old mistake.
“I could fake it ′til I make it, but I won’t. (Fake it ′til I make it, but I won’t). If you crave it, you could take it, but you don′t. (Crave it, you could take it, but you don’t). I don′t want it, I don’t need it. And I won’t let you repeat it. You just play until you break it and it′s blown.
