A teaser image shows that the camera app supports the 35 mm equivalent focal lengths of 24 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm and 85 mm, but at least with 35 mm and 50 mm, the smartphone has to resort to digital zoom. It is curious how bad the bokeh simulation looks in one of the sample photos shared. Instead of simulating a more or less realistic drop in sharpness that takes the distance of objects into account, Motorola only knows the subject and bokeh maxima.

The subject edges are not even recognized correctly. If the portrait mode of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ actually works so poorly, it is better not to use it. According to Motorola, the Edge 70 Pro+ will be on the market “soon”, but no further details on price, launch date or features are yet known.
