Alphabet (GOOG, Financials) unveiled a new $100 per month AI Ultra plan as Google works to expand paid access to its artificial intelligence tools.
The subscription, announced at Google’s I/O developer conference, is aimed at developers and creators who need heavier use of Gemini. The plan includes five times the usage limit in the Gemini app compared with lower-tier offerings.
The launch comes as major technology companies continue testing how much users will pay for advanced AI tools. Google is competing with OpenAI and other firms that are building premium subscription products around chatbots, coding tools and creative software.
The company also cut the price of one of its top-tier plans, signaling a push to make paid AI products more competitive.
For investors, the new plan shows Google trying to turn AI demand into recurring revenue while keeping Gemini central to its broader software strategy.
