We’re at that point in the year when it’s too mild to pile on jumpers and heavy coats, yet you might still want to take a jacket out with you. One popular trend at the minute is the funnel neck jacket.
Featuring a high collar that shields the neck from wind and a shorter length that pairs great with spring outfits, it’s both practical and stylish – and we’ve spotted a trendy option from Next. The Funnel Neck Cotton Utility Jacket , €61.50, is available in three colourways – khaki green, red and butter yellow – and can still be found in a range of sizes from XS to XL.
Constructed from a blend of cotton and lyocell, the jacket boasts a concealed zip fastening finished with poppers for a sleek look. It’s also available in either regular or petite sizing.
Cut in a boxy fit, this jacket also features two generously sized patch pockets on the front. Team it with jeans, sandals and a graphic tee for a perfect summer pub outfit, or dress it up with a dress and boots on cooler days, reports OK!.

For another option, the Topshop denim utility jacket in ecru is €79.99 on ASOS.
Or if you’re after something longer and more casual, the M&S Shower Resistant Lightweight Hooded Longline Utility Parka is €72 and comes in three colours – faded blue, black, and sage.
The Next jacket has gained an impressive 4.7-star rating, with one customer noting: “Really good quality jacket, perfect for this time of year when you don’t need a big coat as it’s big enough to fit comfortably over a jumper.”
Another shopper loved it but offered a tip on sizing: “Love this yellow jacket. I’m Normally a large but the medium fitted perfect. So you need to go down one size cos it oversized. Highly recommend. I’m going to order it in red too. Looks so smart on.”
A further buyer said: “I bought this a couple of weeks ago and wore it recently with trousers, it looked great very comfortable and great fit, just right for summer lightweight and a lovely colour very on trend.”
While the majority of shoppers loved its boxy shape, one customer wasn’t quite as impressed, remarking that it was ‘shapeless’. They noted: “Warm jacket with a nice neck shape, but in general very shapeless and I wanted something more fitted.”
Nevertheless, most people shared the views of this glowing review, which read: “Love it. Seems to go with lots of things from dresses to leggings!”
