Both Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson will play their final match for Liverpool when they host Brentford at Anfield on Sunday

Mohamed Salah has made clear to his Liverpool team-mates they had ‘better win next year’ ahead of his departure from the club. The Egyptian will leave Anfield at the end of the season, bringing an end to a nine-year spell.
During that time, he has won two Premier League titles, two League Cups, one FA Cup and a Champions League. He was also the Premier League’s top scorer in four seasons.
Ahead of his final game for the club, which will come against Brentford at Anfield on Sunday, Salah, along with Andy Robertson, was presented with a souvenir of their time at the club by manager Arne Slot. Both then gave speeches in front of their team-mates.

Those speeches have been shared by Liverpool on their social media accounts. “I don’t want to be emotional today, because tomorrow is going to be an emotional day,” Salah said.
“But, I really appreciate every moment I’ve had at this club.
“I’ve had a great time with all of you, and it’s something I will take with me in the future, so thank you very much. Hopefully, I’ll see you soon again.”

Following Robertson’s speech, Salah added another key message for next season’s Liverpool squad.
He added: “One more thing I want to say.
“Being in Liverpool, winning something for Liverpool and winning games is the best thing that could happen to you.
Content cannot be displayed without consent
“I think it’s the best club in the world when you win something, and the worst club in the world when you lose. So you better win next year!”
In his speech, Robertson said: “I can only say the same as Mo, I think it’s been in the nine years, the best years of our lives. We’ve had so much fun, so much laughter, and so much success as well.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to share the changing room with you lads, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.”
Liverpool go into the game against Brentford knowing that they need to avoid defeat to confirm Champions League football next season. If they do lose and Bournemouth win with a six-goal swing, then they will have to settle for the Europa League.
