It’s safe to say diehard Taylor Swift fans have been living their best lives over the past few weeks.
Any Swiftie can no doubt tell you where they were when they heard not one, but two of the unforgettable recent announcements from the star: a brand new album and her engagement to Travis Kelce. The hype has been undeniable—from the Empire State Building lighting up as orange (the color of Swift’s new album) to Krispy Kreme giving away free donuts to celebrate the celeb engagement.
Now, the album drop is officially less than a month away! And Target is helping fans get ready to listen to Swift’s album in a special new way.
Target’s Exclusive “The Life of a Showgirl” CDs
You might be planning on listening to “The Life of a Showgirl” on Spotify or Apple Music on October 3, but Target’s exclusive CDs come with bonuses of posters and an 8-page lyric booklet with “never-before-seen photos.” Fans can choose from (or preorder all) three editions: It’s Beautiful, It’s Frightening and It’s Rapturous.
“You can now preorder 3 Target-exclusive versions of @taylorswift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ CD with unique posters, albums art, & more, only at Target,” the chain announced in an Instagram post.
Target says fans can expect each $14.99 CD to be “delivered on or shortly after [the] release date.” That way, you won’t miss out on listening to the album everyone will be talking about.

If you don’t have a CD player but do have a record player, fans can also preorder the album on a glittery orange vinyl. The Sweat And Vanilla Perfume vinyl also comes with never-before-seen photos and lyrics, along with “a unique poem written by Taylor on one side.”

On Instagram, some fans were determined to snag a new CD regardless. “I DONT EVEN HAVE A CD PLAYER (but i am gonna buy them anyway),” one user commented.
Chances are, major Swifties would rather listen to the album right away. And Target is giving Swift’s fans that opportunity with a midnight October 3 release of the album at select stores nationwide. Hundreds of Target’s will participate, but Swifties can only grab these CDs (online or at stores) while supplies last.
You can check to see if a store near you is participating in the midnight release. If you plan on heading to Target the night of the album’s release or preordering any Swift exclusives on Target’s website though, don’t wait! Because there’s little doubt Swifties will scoop everything up in no time.
