CLEVELAND, Ohio – A recall of vitamins has been expanded because of a threat of salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Total Nutrition Inc. of Deer Park, New York, has expanded the recent recall of TNVitamins and Doctor’s Pride Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood Moringa capsules. It follows an ongoing supply-chain investigation that identified additional lot numbers linked to the same raw material lot that prompted the original recall.
(Here’s our previous story with more product information and lot numbers.)
Salmonella can cause sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons who are infected also can experience ill effects.
The recalled product was distributed nationally through online platforms, Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, Target and the company’s website.
The added products in the recall all have 04/2027 as expiration date:
• TNVitamins Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood Moringa 10,000 mg (120 capsules) with Lot Nos. 2725 and 2503104.
• Doctor’s Pride Complete Green Superfood Ultra Potent Moringa 10,000 mg (120 capsules) with Lot No. 2725.
Customers who have purchased the affected products are asked to dispose of them immediately. Customers can request a refund by contacting TNVitamins at customerservice@tnvitamins.com and providing name, order number and photo of the product with lot codes.
