Dua Lipa and Callum Turner ‘borrowed’ the sumptuous yacht owned by Cork businessman Denis O’Brien for their honeymoon celebrations after a very stylish Italian wedding.
The couple tied the knot in southern Italy earlier this month, a small affair celebrated with family and friends at the medieval Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria, in the countryside outside the city of Palermo.
And after three days of celebrations, estimated to have cost around €1.5m, the couple stole away to board the luxury 90m yacht Nero, which had been moored in the Tyrrhenian Sea, just off the coast of the beautiful island.
The Nero superyacht was bought by Cork man Denis O’Brien, who made his initial fortune in telecoms in Ireland, in 2014. And it can be rented out for the bargain price of just under half a million euros a week. To be fair, it does sleep 12 people, so the cost can be shared.
And the facilities on board are not too shabby – there is an expansive sun deck with its Jacuzzi tub and 5.7m resistance pool, multiple alfresco dining and relaxing options as well as the formal dining room, spacious lounges, a cinema room, beauty salon and a state-of-the-art gym.

The couple are believed to have spent their first night alone after their wedding celebrations about Nero, that followed the marriage at Marylebone Town Hall in London. That was the formal event, later on, Dua and Callum exchanged vows in a lavish celebration at the medieval Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria in Sicily on June 6th.
The famous guests included Sir Elton John, who performed his classic song Your Song for the pair. Dua’s wedding gown was decorated with diamonds, personally designed by fashion legend Donatella Versace.
The villa’s interior was adorned with hyacinths and peonies, and photo booths were set up for taking mementoes. The guests all received cigarettes and handkerchiefs embroidered with the phrase “Stay mad with me forever”.
The exchange of vows followed a 10-minute fireworks show illuminated the night sky above Villa Valguanera just before 11.30 p.m.
