A swan photo this isn’t, but Benson Boone opens his 2026 with something just as cinematic. “The Time of My Life” arrives now via Warner Records, a slow-building single that captures the eerie detachment of moving forward through life without the person you thought would stay until the very end. The GRAMMY-nominated, multi-Platinum pop star turns that quiet ache into his first new music of the year.

The song drifts into frame like a melancholy dream, just acoustic guitar and Boone’s haunted voice, then climbs toward soaring vocals and a staggering Wall of Sound built on crashing drums, stormy electric guitar, and stacked harmonies. Channelling the lovelorn spirits of ’50s rock through a modern lens, Boone wrote the track with his go-to collaborator Jack LaFrantz and producer Jason Evigan, whose credits include Justin Bieber and Sabrina Carpenter.

The official video stages that emotional disconnect as a theatrical production starring Alix Earle. The pair play out a larger-than-life love story that contrasts Boone’s internal struggle as he’s haunted by the memory of a past partner. Anticipation had been climbing all month, fuelled by viral clips of Earle lip-syncing the song from a yacht in Monaco and Boone recreating the TikTok down to the little black dress she wore.

The single lands as Boone’s first since his blockbuster sophomore set ‘American Heart’, which debuted in the Top 10 in 10 countries, hitting #2 in the U.S. and Canada and #1 in Australia and New Zealand. Shortly before its release last June, he made his Saturday Night Live debut with “Mystical Magical” and “Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else,” both of which crossed half a billion streams and climbed the radio charts. The album also launched “Mr. Electric Blue” and “Momma Song.”

All of that followed his headline-making debut at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, where he earned a Best New Artist nomination and delivered a show-stopping performance of “Beautiful Things.” He took over the Coachella main stage too, bringing out Brian May of Queen for a viral rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and the two reunited for a pair of shows on the European leg of his American Heart Tour.

“Beautiful Things” remains the engine behind it all. The track was the most streamed song in the world in 2024, joined YouTube’s Billion Views Club last month, logged seven weeks at #1 on the Billboard Global 200, and vaulted to #2 on the Hot 100. It earned Boone two Billboard Music Awards, an MTV VMA, an iHeartRadio Music Award, and the BMI Champion Award, and it anchored his 2x Platinum debut ‘Fireworks & Rollerblades’.

Boone entered 2026 with the wind at his back, co-starring in an Instacart Super Bowl spot with Ben Stiller and headlining a San Francisco set for the Super Bowl LX concert series. Now he’s ready to take all of it on the road. His 35-date Wanted Man Tour launches July 7 in Pittsburgh, with multiple nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, before wrapping in Casper, WY, on September 3. He’ll also play the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this fall.
