  • July 11, 2026

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts has revoked the license of a former Manhattan chiropractor who was convicted in September 2025 of multiple sex crimes that occurred in his office, officials announced Thursday morning.

The license of Clark A. Petersen, 67, who is now in a Kansas state prison, was revoked following a formal hearing conducted on April 10 by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.

According to its final order revoking Petersen’s license, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts noted that the chiropractor had been convicted on Sept. 8, 2025, of 46 felonies and five misdemeanors.

The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts said Petersen had four felony convictions for rape and 40 felony convictions for aggravated sexual battery. He also was convicted of five misdemeanors.

The acts leading to these convictions were committed between 2017 and 2022, according to the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts order revoking Petersen’s license.

Following Petersen’s conviction on the felony counts, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts on April 10 conducted a formal hearing seeking the revocation of his license.

Petersen practiced as a chiropractor in Manhattan for 39 years, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts noted. He had closed his office by the time his trial began in August 2025 in the Riley County District Court.

Petersen is currently serving a 330-month — or 27.5-year — prison sentence, as ordered in October 2025 by the Riley County District Court.

Officials said Petersen is currently an inmate at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
