Ryanair’s social media team has earned plaudits once again after issuing a brutal three-word response to a disgruntled passenger’s window seat complaint. The Irish airline took to X after user, Toby said he was “disgusted” by his position in the cabin.

“Paid for a window seat Ryanair,” he wrote in a post alongside a snap of his predicament. “Absolutely disgusting.” In the photo, which has been viewed more than 6.4 million times, Toby could be seen glancing to his left at the plane’s sidewall panel, with a window just in shot over his shoulder.

Writing in response, one X user claimed: “No, you didn’t pay for a window seat. You paid for a seat on the window side of the plane.”

A second person quipped: “This is why you use seat maps. This one tricks a lot of folks.”

A third commented: “No you didn’t and I’m sure you can manage a couple of hours without needing to see out the window.”

While a fourth pointed out: “This is the famous Row 11 (or 12 depending on the Boeing 737 model). It’s practically an internet heritage site at this point. You should feel honoured to sit in a meme history location.”

Ryanair, meanwhile, hilariously reposted Toby’s tweet adding a large red arrow to his image pointing to the window behind him. “Hope this helps,” they said.

Others told Toby he’d had a lucky escape, however, after it emerged another passenger on a Ryanair flight from Greece had been reportedly partially ‘sucked’ out of a shattered window as his wife gripped onto him.

“Nah, this ain’t it,” an X user told Ryanair. “The best time to delete this post was when you posted it; The second-best time was now.”

The man reportedly required medical treatment on Friday (July 10) after the horror incident mid-flight.

The incident occurred aboard a Boeing 737-800 travelling from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, with reports that the male passenger was pulled through the opening up to his shoulders, leaving his head outside the aircraft.

In a statement, Ryanair said: “A Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on Friday morning (10 July) returned to Thessaloniki shortly after take-off when a passenger window dislodged inflight. The aircraft landed normally and passengers returned to the terminal.

“One passenger requested and received medical assistance on the ground in Thessaloniki. In order to minimise any delay, a replacement aircraft was arranged to bring passengers to Memmingen which departed Thessaloniki at 9:53 local this morning.”
