A 42-year-old woman has been arrested after items were reportedly thrown at Twelfth parade participants in east Belfast on Monday.
Police said the woman was detained on suspicion of common assault and public order offences following the incident in the Beersbridge Road area, as Twelfth of July parades took place across Northern Ireland — held a day later than usual this year as the Twelfth fell on a Sunday.
She remains in police custody.
The PSNI said it is aware of footage of the incident circulating online, and confirmed the incident is not being treated as hate motivated.
Enquiries are continuing, and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
