ASIC has confirmed the estimated industry funding levy for the 2025–26 financial year, and how much licensees can expect to pay.
According to its annual Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS), ASIC said the total for the financial advice sector overall is $62.6 million, up from $46.1 million last year.
Breaking it down by sub-sectors, the estimated cost for licensees that provide personal advice to retail clients on relevant financial products will be $48.72m.
The estimated levy for those operating in this sub-sector will be a minimum levy of $1,500 plus $3,037 per adviser for licensees that provide personal advice to retail clients on relevant financial products. This is up from $1,500 plus $2,314 last year, a rise of 31 per cent and compares to a 12 per cent decrease last year.
However, the biggest change has been seen in those licensees that provide general advice only where this year’s estimated levy has more than doubled from $4,665 to $10,979 while estimated costs have risen from $5.2 million to $12.34 million.
Licensees that provide personal advice to wholesale clients only have seen their levy reduced from $825 to $548 while estimated total costs have fallen from $1.64 million to $1.26 million.
