The International Hotel in Killarney is on the market for a €20 million.

It is the first time in almost 50 years that the property, located at Kenmare Place in the heart of the tourist town, has been put up for sale.

Boasting 98 rooms, the property is currently owned by the Coyne family. The hotel was purchased by late Sean Coyne, an estate agent, back in the 1970s. It also houses the hugely popular Hannigan’s Bar and Restaurant.

It is ideally located within walking distance of Killarney National Park and the town centre, and offers convenient access to both the Ring of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way.

The property is offered free of branding ties, giving new owners the flexibility to continue its established independent identity or pursue a repositioning strategy.

Paul Collins, Head of CBRE Hotels Ireland, said: “The International combines scale, prime location and trading strength, in a destination where hotel sales of this calibre are exceptionally scarce. The International combines the attributes that investors are looking for and we expect strong interest from both domestic and international buyers.”

“For fifty years we have considered ourselves caretakers of this magnificent hotel,” added Tracy Coyne, managing director of the International Hotel.

“Our curatorship is now coming to a close and the time has come to pass the mantle to new owners who will continue to protect its heritage while driving its success into the future.”
