‘I’ve seen all her films,’ Camille told Gala of the inspiration behind her dress. ‘Her outfit in Alfred Hitchcock’s work is one of my favourites.’ Indeed, the original gown, designed by legendary costume designer Edith Head for Hitchcock’s famous thriller, is a famous piece of cinematic fashion history. ‘Hitchcock told me it was important that Grace’s clothes help to establish some of the conflict in the story,’ Head recalled of the dress in Edith Head’s Hollywood. ‘She was to be the typical sophisticated society-girl magazine editor who falls in love with a scruffy photographer, Jimmy Stewart. … Hitch wanted her to look like a piece of Dresden china, something slightly untouchable.’

In an interview with Vanity Fair France, Camille spoke about the comparisons she’s received all her life, telling the outlet, ‘When people told me I looked like my grandmother, to me, I looked like “Mémé des anges,” [Grandmother of the Angels], not like an internationally known star. It’s a huge compliment and an honour to look like her. She’s still the most beautiful woman in the world.’

‘For me, she is above all my mother’s mother. I would really have liked to know her and talk with her. From what my mother tells me, from what we hear, she was a very funny person, with ideas, who had character and who was a very admirable person on all levels.’
