If you watched the “Avengers: Doomsday” trailer, you’re well aware that over half of Hollywood is in the movie.
But there’s one actor that Kevin Feige, president and executive producer of Marvel Studios, still can’t convince to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Adam Driver.
Feige explained on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that Driver has been approached to star in multiple projects, but always turns them down.
“Many, many, many, many [conversations],” Feige said. “It’s no secret we’d like to get [him on board], but it’s a tradition to Zoom with him and then he passes. That’s a long-lived tradition.”
Feige made it clear that Driver “couldn’t be more cordial” about his refusal to work with Marvel. “He’s usually up-front about how he’s feeling,” Feige added.
Driver has been rumored to be in consideration for roles like Magneto or Mr. Sinister in the “X-Men” franchise.
He’s no stranger to a big franchise either, having starred as Kylo Ren in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy.
But the actor is apparently very selective about his roles, including his breakout one in the HBO series “Girls.”
“I was doing a lot of theater at the time and I didn’t really watch a lot of TV shows, which I hope doesn’t sound like elitist, but I wasn’t interested. And my agent convinced me to go in and read for ‘Girls.’ And I met Lena [Dunham] and got the job. And it changed the course of my life,” Driver told ScreenRant in 2021.
Feige also addressed other rumored A-listers fot other Marvel movies, like Ryan Gosling starring in a “Ghost Rider” film and Cynthia Erivo taking on the role of Storm in “X-Men.”
“You never know what the future may bring, both very good actors and great characters,” was all he said on the podcast.
