Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Vivienne, is joining several of her siblings in making a name change.
About a week after her 18th birthday, Vivienne filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court to remove her dad’s name, Pitt, from her legal hyphenated last name, Jolie-Pitt, according to documents obtained by E! News.
In the filing, she requested her full name be changed from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, citing the reason for the change is “personal.”
Vivienne follows her siblings Shiloh, who also dropped Pitt from their last name on her 18th birthday, as well as Maddox and Zahara, who filed similar petitions earlier this year.
The 18-year-old has been using Jolie solely as a last name for a while now, being credited in a 2024 Playbill for the Broadway production of “The Outsiders,” where she served as an assistant to her producer mom.
“Angelina is thrilled to be working on her first theatrical producing venture alongside her daughter, Vivienne,” read the program, per E!, “who is a theatre student and supporter of the arts.”
Pitt and Jolie finalized their divorce in 2024, after a drawn-out legal battle over assets. The couple share six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 18.
Jolie had taken a step back from the spotlight during the much of the divorce proceedings, but is back to feeling like her old self, something she credits her children for.
“I think my fighting spirit is finally back. I lost it for a bit,” she told Variety recently. “I got kind of taken down a little bit and it’s coming back in large part thanks to my children, who are now older, and encouraging it.”
She continued, “My kids are almost all 18, so now they want to see me traveling the world, they want me to get out and do things. They know me more than anybody, and they still like me, which says a lot.”
“I think they’re very encouraging of me kind of getting back to aspects of myself that maybe I hadn’t felt as free to do,” Jolie added.
